How your PageRank is determined

Before we start, you need to see what backlinks you have and how they are PR wise. I recommend using this tool to see how your website’s backlinks are sorted. This is because it does the job extremely well and in a  nice format. However I must warn you that not all backlinks will be listed and I know the tool creators are working on it and doing all they can to fix it.

Also I have to make it clear that this is only an educated guess. This is becuase google wouldn’t reveal the acctual formulae they use to calculate PR becuase it would cause even more exploitations of PR.

Now that you have the details about your backlinks we can use one of these two rules to calculate what it would be most likely like:

Rule 1: 19 PRx links to get PRx (i.e. 19 PR4 links to get a PR4).
Rule 2: 4 PRx links to get PR(x-1) (i.e. 4 PR5 links to get a PR4).
Rule 3: 101 PRx links to get PR(x+1) (i.e. 101 PR3 links to get a PR4).

PR Links For PR3 Links For PR4 Links For PR5 Links For PR6 Links For PR7 Links For PR8
1 555 3,000 17,000 93,000 508,000 2,800,000
2 101 555 3,000 17,000 93,000 508,000
3 19 101 555 3,000 17,000 93,000
4 4 19 101 555 3,000 17,000
5 1 4 19 101 555 3,000
6 1 1 4 19 101 555
7 1 1 1 4 19 101
8 1 1 1 1 4 19
9 1 1 1 1 1 4
10 1 1 1 1 1 1

Using this table its clear that you can see what you need to aim to get a certain PageRank.

Good luck to everyone :)
